Product Manager - Insurance Technology

We're working with a Global Insurance Technology Client to appoint an experienced Insurtech Product Manager to drive the evolution of an AI-powered insurance platform. We are specifically looking for candidates who have owned product features and functionality, defined requirements, written user stories, prioritised roadmaps, and driven product development from concept through to release. The successful candidate will sit at the intersection of insurance operations, technology, and business strategy, helping to modernise platforms, improve operational efficiency, and deliver meaningful product innovation across complex insurance workflows. Please note: We are specifically seeking Product Managers who have owned product functionality, features, releases, and roadmap decisions. Candidates whose experience is primarily Business Analysis, Project Management, or operational use of insurance platforms without direct product ownership are unlikely to be a suitable fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive the product roadmap, aligning priorities with business objectives, customer needs, and market opportunities
- Define, prioritise, and deliver new product features, enhancements, and product versions
- Write detailed user stories, functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and product specifications
- Work closely with engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle
- Make informed decisions around feature prioritisation, technical trade-offs, and product investment
- Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to ensure aligned platform development
- Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, releases, and retrospectives
- Facilitate discovery workshops, requirements gathering, and user research activities
- Present product strategy, progress, and recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Engage with third-party vendors, integration partners, and technology providers
- Ensure the platform supports end-to-end insurance workflows, including underwriting, policy administration, and claims processes
- Drive measurable improvements in operational efficiency, automation, and customer outcomes
- Establish and monitor KPIs covering adoption, engagement, efficiency, and business value
- Stay informed on insurance technology trends, regulation, and competitive developments
Key Requirements
- Specific Product Manager experience within insurance technology required, with ownership of product roadmaps, feature prioritisation, and product delivery
- Demonstrable experience defining and launching new features, enhancements, and product releases (rather than solely gathering requirements or managing stakeholders)
- Strong understanding of insurance operations, including underwriting, policy administration, claims, or broking workflows
- Hands-on experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, specifications, and working closely with engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, workstreams, and competing priorities in a fast-paced Agile environment
- Strong technical understanding of APIs, integrations, data flows, and modern SaaS platforms, with the ability to engage confidently with technical teams
- Experience with core systems platforms such as Duck Creek, BPA, Guidewire is required
- Knowledge of InsurTech, AI/ML, automated underwriting, or digital distribution
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and insurance data standards such as ACORD
